Leadership Sunnyvale is pleased to announce it’s new 2019-2020 program!
This year’s offerings have been expanded to include a highly interactive simulation workshop facilitated by the Urban Land Use Institute; a personal session with former County Planner and acclaimed researcher Don Weden on his latest study of Santa Clara County; and other new, updated classes!
The program runs from September 2019 through June 2020. There will be 10 monthly seminars held on the second or third Friday of the month with one additional seminar in October held on a Wednesday. There is one half-day on a Saturday in November.
In addition to the curriculum, participants will develop and deliver class projects, typically in groups of 5 to 7 people. These public benefit projects are intended to use the skills and knowledge developed and align with individual and organizational interests. Projects may be completed within the timeframe of the classes or be phases of projects that will complete beyond the scope of the course.
Other activities outside the class may include ‘drive-along’ with public safety officers, ‘sit-along’ with our 911 dispatchers, attending the Sunnyvale City Council Strategic Workshop, or the Study Issues and Budget Workshop. The City has some unique ways of serving its stakeholders and these are some of the ways to learn about why Sunnyvale is often cited as an exemplary city.
We continually evaluate the curriculum and schedule to ensure that we provide current content and a reasonable schedule to participants. Our current schedule* is listed below.
